Tang Contemporary Art presents a compelling group exhibition featuring three distinguished artists: Ben Ashton, Ivan Pokidyshev, and Jochen Mühlenbrink. This exhibition explores the intersection between visual perception and artistic interpretation, challenging viewers to reconsider the relationship between what we see and what truly exists.

The three artists share a common philosophy: painting serves as a medium to reimagine and reshape visual reality rather than merely document it. While each demonstrates exceptional technical mastery, their work transcends simple representation. They create a dynamic tension between physical observation and psychological perception, opening up spaces where appearance and reality diverge in subtle yet profound ways.

Ben Ashton's practice draws from classical portraiture traditions—incorporating confident poses, refined compositions, and historical gravitas—only to deliberately disrupt these conventions. Through his extensive study of old masters combined with digital-age aesthetics, he introduces glitches and formal ruptures that undermine the authority, confidence, and historical certainty these portraits once projected. His subjects remain recognizable, yet their projected authority becomes destabilized, creating both visual and conceptual uncertainty.

Curated by Zoe Tsang and Willa Yip, this exhibition invites viewers to question their assumptions about visual truth and artistic representation.

Hong Kong gets its first large-scale Formula racing takeover — and Cityplaza is turning the mall into a race weekend. RACE TO GLORY, presented with beIN SPORTS and Now TV, mixes live Grand Prix broadcasts with driver-style challenges, F1 sims, and a Red Bull Racing zone you can walk straight into.

Little Palette Summer Oasis: Eco Art Camp

Europe's best-known live horse theatre finally lands in Asia — and Hong Kong gets the first stop. CAVALLUNA – Gate to the Otherworld takes over Kai Tak Arena with 54 horses, riders, dancers and a full theatrical set, turning the arena floor into a fantasy world rather than a conventional equestrian display.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is exclusive presenting partner and cultural host, tying the run to its 2026 Year of the Horse programme. On stage: Andalusians, Friesians, Lusitanos, mini ponies and more; the Hungarian Post (a rider standing across two horses while driving others), liberty work without reins, and trick riding mixed with original music, acrobatics and oversized scenery. Asia's annual fashion spotlight returns to the harbour — and this year CENTRESTAGE is bigger than ever. Organised by the HKTDC and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the 11th edition lands at HKCEC Hall 3 as a flagship of the third Hong Kong Fashion Fest, pulling together roughly 270 brands from 24 countries and regions for four days of runways, sourcing and street-level style discovery.

Expect six curated zones — Craftsmanship, Contemporary, Urban, Athleisure, Circular Fashion and Accessories — plus more than 40 events and over 30 fashion shows. Headline moments include the new Hype² streetwear pavilion (with celebrity-backed labels among the mix), CENTRESTAGE ELITES with designer Kit Wan's *MUTANT//MYTHOLOGY* show, the fair's largest Korea pavilion with Lee Chaeyeon on stage on 4 September, a first-time Perfume salon for niche scent sampling, and Young Fashion Designers' Contest talent alongside talks including Rok Hwang.

CENTRESTAGE 2026

Hong Kong's annual timepiece summit returns to the harbour — and this year marks the 45th running of the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair. Staged at HKCEC alongside the 14th Salon de TIME, the twin fairs bring together manufacturers, buyers, designers and watch lovers under one roof for five days of sourcing, networking and discovery.

The main fair spans the full watch and clock supply chain: finished watches and clocks, parts and components, packaging and display, machinery and equipment, plus smart and OEM timepieces. Featured zones include Pageant of Eternity (premium complete watches), the Cantonese Business Go Global pavilion, the Guangzhou delegation, and Green Solutions Suppliers. Last year's edition drew 652 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, and more than 15,700 physical buyers from 95 markets — a useful benchmark for the scale you can expect in 2026.

Salon de TIME runs in parallel as Hong Kong's luxury timepiece showcase, with independent brands, microbrands, sport watches and high-jewellery pieces. Parts of Salon de TIME are open to the public during the fair period, with celebrity events, watch parades and lucky draws on the programme.

HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair 2026 (45th Edition)

Opera Hong Kong closes out the 2026 season with one of the most enduring pairings in the repertoire: Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, staged back-to-back at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre from 8 to 11 October.

Both works belong to the Italian verismo tradition — short, sharp, and unflinching in their portrayal of jealousy, honour, and revenge. Cavalleria Rusticana unfolds on Easter morning in a Sicilian village, where Santuzza's love for Turiddu curdles into betrayal and bloodshed; its famous Intermezzo alone is worth the price of admission. Pagliacci follows a travelling commedia troupe whose performance collapses into real tragedy when Canio discovers his wife Nedda's affair — the aria "Vesti la giubba" remains one of opera's most heartbreaking moments.

Warren Mok produces; Roberto Gianola conducts the Hong Kong Philharmonic, with the Opera Hong Kong Chorus and Children Chorus. Enrico Castiglione directs and designs the production. Sung in Italian with Chinese and English surtitles.

AOAO x FWY University Presents: HOMECOMING Party 2026

PODIUM presents Phantom('s) Presence — the first solo exhibition by Rotterdam-based Japanese artist Shimon Kamada, and his first at the gallery. Drawn from childhood and teenage photo albums back home in Japan, the new works stage memory as something that floats, overlaps, and refuses to sit still: hometown streets, domestic interiors, landscapes, and dream logic held together by warped light and a quiet, uneasy shadow.

The title works both ways. Memory hangs around like a ghost that never quite leaves the room; it also nods to phantom limb — the strange sense that what is gone can still feel present. Kamada leans into that instability. Partway through the run, some pieces will be rearranged and remade, so the show itself keeps shifting while you are looking.

The exhibition title borrows the recurring line from the 1998 film The Truman Show — extending from the film's artificial constructed space into questions of how the everyday is repeated, how our sense of time becomes disrupted, and the structures and frameworks that quietly shape our imagination of home, nature, and identity — both physically and psychologically.

Through painting and found objects, the exhibition unfolds along two parallel creative threads: one rooted in the artist's observations of plants encountered across Europe and Hong Kong; the other, more intimate and close to daily life — a series of domestic still lifes.

Together, these works invite viewers to pause and reconsider the familiar — the routines we inhabit, the spaces we call home, and the quiet ways in which the world around us is always, subtly, being staged.

Hong Kong's iconic cha chaan teng (tea restaurants) have been woven into the daily fabric of local life for generations. The design elements associated with these establishments have evolved into significant symbols of local culture, gaining widespread popularity both locally and internationally through retro-inspired designs and cultural products in recent years.

Yet this widely recognized cultural symbol remains simultaneously familiar and foreign to Hong Kong people—familiar because cha chaan teng dining and spaces have become internalized as part of Hong Kong identity, yet foreign because this very closeness often causes us to overlook the extensive cultural context that shapes it.

AIRSIDE GATE33 Art Space, dedicated to cultivating local culture, breaks from traditional group exhibition frameworks this 'Art March' by inviting architectural historian and architect Charles Lai (UK) and product designer and community engagement planner Kay Chan Wan Ki to present this exhibition through a 'research-based curation' approach.

The exhibition brings together cross-disciplinary creators including architects, product designers, graphic designers, woodworking artisans, academic researchers, filmmakers, and chefs. Using 'design' as the core entry point, it comprehensively deconstructs the 'cha chaan teng' through multi-sensory experiences involving sight, sound, touch, and smell. Through methods of 'recreation' and 're-creation,' research findings are transformed into rich and diverse exhibition content across seven zones, mapping out the unique position of 'cha chaan teng' in Hong Kong's popular culture.

Staying true to GATE33 Art Space's emphasis on interactive experiences, the exhibition features two major immersive experiences. Visitors can personally 'answer phone orders,' decoding the unique 'order-taking' codes exclusive to Hong Kong tea restaurants. You can also don a waiter's uniform and experience the 1:1 scale 'beverage station' workflow, preparing the globally renowned 'lightning-fast meals' while understanding the efficiency secrets behind them.

Pici 10th Anniversary Market

What happens when a lawyer trades courtrooms for spray cans? Hong Kong-born Graffiti artist Billy did exactly that — walking away from a promising legal career to pursue street art, initially just to save money on creative supplies. That accidental beginning snowballed into an international journey: his works sold out on the very first day of his Dubai debut, and a single Singapore showcase moved over 20 pieces, firmly planting Hong Kong's graffiti art on the global map.

This June, Billy returns home for his very first solo exhibition — "50:50 Duality" — held at Artaflo Collective Gallery in Wong Chuk Hang from June 13 to 27. The show is built around the themes of documentation and dialogue, inviting visitors to slow down, sit with the works, and have an honest conversation with themselves.

🎨 Exhibition Highlights:
- "Lucky Cat" (招財貓) Series — Billy's signature motif reimagined: half adorable exterior, half X-ray skeleton, laced with fluorescent pigments that glow in the dark. A witty yet poignant meditation on the dual faces modern people wear

Back by popular demand this autumn, The Peninsula Hong Kong and Star Ferry's "World Star" once again set sail across Victoria Harbour for an extraordinary on-water experience.

Named after the Japanese word for "sky," Sora has made history as Cambodia's first bar to appear on Asia's 50 Best Bars (No. 65 in 2025), and is also the proud recipient of the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award for its pioneering commitment to zero-waste cocktails and responsible sourcing. The beloved annual toy design celebration is back — bigger, bolder, and this time dressed up as a fast food joint. PMQ Toy Festival 2026 returns from 19 to 21 June 2026, transforming PMQ's ground floor plaza into "TOY GUYS," a limited-edition toy fast food restaurant concept that's equal parts absurd and irresistible.

Now in its latest edition, the festival stays true to its founding mission: championing local toy designers, elevating their craft, and opening doors to new industry opportunities. This year, over 40 original designer toy brands from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul, and Taipei converge under one roof — or rather, one very playful counter.

Four local design collectives have been specially invited to collaborate on the TOY GUYS concept: FOON's CREATIONS, Made by plastic, Morimei, and The W.O.O.F. Club. Each brings their signature style to the fast food theme — think glow-in-the-dark burger-flipping monsters, chubby hamburger mascots, nihilistic soda-can cat finger puppets, and a Corgi dressed as a classic melon soda. Limited-edition art pieces, exclusive toys, and merchandise will be available during the event.

Beyond the shopping frenzy, the festival also features a lineup of workshops and sharing sessions where designers open up about their creative process and the stories behind their characters — a rare chance to connect with the people behind the pieces.

PMQ Toy Festival 2026

Hong Kong's first art collectible card exhibition has arrived.

"Pocket Art" is a group exhibition held at PMQ from 28 May to 21 June 2026, hosted by PMQ and curated by local artist armechan (亞米青). The show brings together nine local and international artists — including Lee Chi-tat (利志達), Rex Koo, Hui Yi-shuen (許以璇), Lam King-ting (林敬庭), and others — transforming over 50 original artworks into more than 150 collectible cards.

Built upon the ACEO (Art Cards Editions & Originals) framework, the exhibition compresses gallery-scale works onto 2.5 × 3.5 inch cards. Curator armechan sees the card format as a medium in its own right — a small canvas that opens up experimental possibilities, turning original art into something portable, tactile, and collectible.

The cards span five rarity tiers: Common (C), Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), Signature Rare (SGR), and the ultra-rare Original Rare (OR) — each OR being a one-of-a-kind hand-drawn artwork by the artist, with only 9 issued across the entire series.

The exhibition is divided into three zones: a Gallery Area showcasing large-scale originals and authentic card pieces; a Card Display Area presenting the full graded set authenticated by Grading Eleven Authentication (GEA); and a Merchandise Area offering limited edition collectibles.

The nine participating artists each bring a distinct creative lens — from woodblock prints and screen printing to painting and mixed media — reimagining everyday culture, identity, memory, and humour through the intimacy of a palm-sized canvas.

"STILL, WITH US | Light. Always Here" is a photographic experience exhibition about love, loss, and the grey space in between. Through real stories and portraits, visitors are invited to step into this space — a place where there is no need to fix yourself, no need to be strong, no need to rush toward answers.

All you need to do is sit with the weight you carry in your heart, let it be seen, and let it be gently held.

This is not an exhibition about "moving on". It is a tender reminder — that even after loss, something still walks with us. If someone's name comes to mind, or you wish to offer a friend who is grieving a quiet embrace, share this exhibition with them.

Curated in collaboration with musician and sound artist Delf (Wu Yin-fung), the evening features live music performances by 翻騰三周半 and That's My Shhh, a dance performance of "I saw a Ping-Pong. I Crushed it. It was an Egg. (Reprise)", poetry readings, an improvised poetry gathering, M+ staff spotlight talks, and a youth-led programme in the galleries. Centred around the curatorial question "What Is Jazz?", the festival invites everyone to answer in their own way — through vinyl listening sessions, bar conversations, live improvised performances, and dancing. When "not understanding" is no longer a barrier, feeling becomes the entry point.

Founded by Yui Yu — a curator from Taiwan based in Hong Kong — the festival grew from a deeply personal experience of reconnecting with life through jazz in a hidden alley bar. The residents of Po Toi Island regard Tin Hau (the Goddess of the Sea) as their guardian deity, making this annual festival one of the island's most significant celebrations. What makes this festival truly remarkable is the extraordinary bamboo theatre structure built specifically for the occasion.

The theatre stage is an engineering marvel, constructed using over 400 wooden poles of varying lengths and 2,000 bamboo pieces. Part of the structure dramatically extends outward, perched precariously on rugged rocks by the seaside. This unique architectural feat is unparalleled in Hong Kong and stands as one of the festival's most spectacular attractions.

The Cantonese opera performances run for five consecutive days, beginning on the 20th day of the third lunar month. On the 22nd day, dragon boat races take place at Tai Wan (Big Bay), drawing many former residents back to the island for reunions and festivities.

Another distinctive feature of the celebration is the "scramble for the Fa Pau" (floral cannon) ceremony held in the afternoon. The organizing committee erects a tall platform behind the temple, where honored guests launch over 30 ceremonial cannons. In front of the platform, on the uneven rocky terrain, dozens of Fa Pau Association members position themselves to catch the falling cannon cores. Those who successfully catch a core are expected to create a new floral cannon and return it to the Tin Hau Temple at the following year's festival.

This traditional celebration beautifully combines religious devotion, community bonding, cultural performances, and athletic competition, offering visitors a rare glimpse into Hong Kong's authentic island heritage.

Authentic championship-level equipment used by Oracle Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, including race suits and gloves bearing the marks of track battles and glory, will be on display.

Racing the Future: Crossover Exhibition

Spanning over ten thousand days and twenty-five years, Jimmy Liao's works have connected with us through picture books, films, music, and various other forms—from the fateful crossings in 'Turn Left, Turn Right' to the imaginary journeys in 'The Underground' and the pursuit of longing in 'The View of Love'. These familiar images and words have become gentle imprints in many hearts.

This March, Jimmy's gentle light will shine at Harbour City Gallery. Officially authorized by Jimmy Liao's brand and co-organized by Meizhi and Zuan & Pi, the Hong Kong exhibition 'A Chance Encounter with Gentle Light' centers around 'states of life' as its theme. The venue is divided into three areas, inviting visitors to explore Jimmy's world through flat surfaces, light and shadow, and three-dimensional installations, discovering their own life circumstances and emotional resonance.

The exhibition design reflects three stages of life and employs various media to deliver unique sensory experiences. Relief techniques give the artworks a tangible warmth; glow-in-the-dark effects emerge subtly in darkness, resembling the flickering gentle light in our memories. A puzzle concept runs throughout—visitors can collect stamps from various parts of the gallery to complete a unique commemorative card.

The exhibition will also launch a series of merchandise, including special edition vinyl figures, pin badge sets, eco-friendly bags, T-shirts, plastic standees, collectible cards, magnetic light boxes, and plush toys, allowing that gentle light to continue accompanying visitors in every corner of their daily lives.

The Hong Kong Cycling Association has successfully secured hosting rights for the UCI Track World Cup in 2026. This prestigious event will take place from April 17-19, 2026, at the Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O.

As the second stop in the World Cup series, this competition is among the most influential events in the UCI annual calendar alongside the World Championships and Olympic Games. It offers cyclists valuable world ranking points and showcases elite track cycling at its finest.

The three-day event will feature thrilling track cycling competitions with top international athletes competing in various disciplines. Team managers meetings and race number distribution will take place on Thursday, April 16, prior to the official competition days.

The Hong Kong Velodrome provides world-class facilities for this high-caliber event, with specialized rooms located on the ground floor of the venue for teams and officials.

Landmark proudly presents Art LANDMARK, a new art experience featuring world-renowned artist Ayako Rokkaku in collaboration with GALLERY TARGET. This exhibition showcases her largest interactive art installation to date - "THE ISLAND - ONIGASHIMA". As a highlight of Hong Kong Art March, the Landmark Atrium will be transformed into a vibrant, sensory art experience space from now until April 17, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in this enchanting and mysterious artistic island.

Inspired by the Japanese folk tale "ONIGASHIMA", Ayako Rokkaku drew connections between Hong Kong and Japan's shared island geography, incorporating elements from the Japanese fairy tale "Momotaro". The installation blurs the line between dreams and reality, artist and audience.

The artwork, meticulously crafted with soft forms and various textured fabrics, reaches a height of six meters and creates a museum-like interactive zone. Visitors are encouraged to touch, feel, and even lean against the artwork, weaving their own artistic journey according to personal preferences. Inside the installation, there's a unique passage displaying 12 wooden sculptures for close viewing, with 11 paintings hidden around the art installation. These carefully selected treasures are non-commercial pieces, designed purely to create a layered art exploration experience.

To celebrate the official unveiling of "THE ISLAND - ONIGASHIMA", Ayako Rokkaku performed a fascinating finger painting demonstration on site, allowing the audience to witness her signature characters and landscapes come to life as she applied paint directly with her hands, embodying her artistic philosophy of "connecting creation through intuition".

THE ISLAND-ONIGASHIMA: Ayako Rokkaku Solo Exhibition

Founded in 1945 by the Pong family from Foshan, Guangdong, Yuet Wo is one of Hong Kong's last surviving traditional sauce gardens with over 80 years of heritage. It is the only sauce garden in Hong Kong that owns its own wine-steaming facility, producing a full range of naturally brewed soy sauces, vinegars, wines, and condiments entirely in-house — a rarity in today's industrialised food landscape. 

Now led by its third-generation successor Jack, Yuet Wo has managed to strike a balance between preserving time-honoured brewing techniques and adapting to modern demands. The factory's sun-drying yard, where sauces are left to ferment and mature under natural sunlight, remains a centrepiece of its traditional production process. 

With land resumption looming over the factory site, this may be one of the last opportunities to experience Yuet Wo's iconic production floor up close. As part of the 'Local Leisure Tour' series, this guided visit invites participants to walk through the sauce garden's production line, learn about the history of Hong Kong's soy sauce industry, and hear the story of how one family has kept this craft alive across generations. Each participant will receive a complimentary Yuet Wo sauce product. 

Previous editions of the tour have been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the public, selling out quickly and drawing participants keen to connect with authentic Hong Kong food culture before it disappears.

The installation is created by Air Giants, a UK-based studio renowned for crafting large-scale, soft interactive sculptures that bring fantastical creatures into everyday life.

Every 'Art March,' Hong Kong immerses itself in a rich artistic atmosphere. While public attention often focuses on large-scale art fairs with magnificent works, the often million-dollar large-scale masterpieces can intimidate newcomers to the art scene. Located in Sheung Wan, 13a New Street Art Gallery takes an alternative approach, launching the new group exhibition 'Bon A Petite' from March 19 to April 5, 2026 (Wednesday to Sunday), presenting small original works and limited edition art toys from eight contemporary artists, allowing art to integrate into daily life in a more accessible and warm manner.

'Bon A Petite' breaks the framework of high art thresholds. The exhibition's name plays on the French phrase for 'enjoy your meal,' inviting viewers to enjoy art with a relaxed mindset as if savoring fine cuisine. With 'Petite (small)' as the core concept, it brings together eight contemporary artists from Japan, New York, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, featuring bite-sized, affordably priced originals and limited edition art toys.

Curator Ruby Fung shares the concept: 'During major exhibitions like Art Basel, audiences are often overwhelmed by large-scale, high-priced works that are difficult to relate to.
